How to fix cable to skirting board?

Hi folks
I have a length of coax cable coming in from the street which is a bit too thick to run down the side of the carpet as seen here:
However it's the perfect size for running along the recess in the skirting board itself as shown here:
What could I use to fix it into this recess? I think with the normal clips you get for nailing cable, they need to fully go round the cable whereas there isn't the room here so if I used those the cable would be loose in the recess

A tacker gun , screwfix do several for not a lot of cash but check they do replacement staples ! Unbelievably some of the ones they sell they don't sell staples for!
Ideally I don't want to be able to see any evidence of fixing, so was thinking more of some king of glue/adherent that could be "at the back" of the cable/in the recess.Gassing Station | Homes, Gardens and DIY | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
