Tell me about sheds.

It comes time in a man's life, when, with two little weeds running around at his feet and constantly sucking the money and time from his bones, that he recognises death's looming presence over his shoulder and so seeks the solace of the open roads on a silly green motorbike and like the hermit in the cave seeks a place of refuge in which he can tinker and potter about in relative peace.

So, I am after a new mancave for storing a motorbike and general escapism, and I thought it would be best to gleam a few opinions regarding the matter.

The criteria are that it must be 10 x 7, pent roof, with double doors - I cannot deviate from this as it will be in my old man's garden, since my new abode is of the terraced variety.

I saw this today: TGB heavy duty

With all the options (22mm tongue and groove timber, floor and double doors) and installation it comes to just shy of £1500.

I am not adverse to putting up a shed, I would actually relish the challenge, so I am wondering if you lot could give me some opinions:

Is it worth the cost? Can you recommend somewhere else? etc.

So please, pass on your knowledge and allow me to have my own place free of Minecraft and In the Night Garden.

I visited a local place and they had the TGB in stock and seemingly get them made to order and then they install them.

Security is sorted - almax.

I am near Edinburgh so if anyone can recommend someone that would be great.

Down the line I would like to be able to insulate the shed, but at the moment my priority is to have something futureproof - so I do not want some tat that will only last a couple of years.

With that in mind, what would be on your shed checklist in terms of quality of materials used. Like I said, the TGB did look well built, and the only other stockist I know of are Dobbies who charge even more.

And I should change my name to 'twoshedsV' - as we are getting two!

That's good to know - I'm going to go have another look at both places again now that both sheds have been pulled down - took two days! Old man had a fit when he saw all the smoke coming off the angle grinder!

We have decided on 10 x 7 ; - Do you reckon 10 x 7 is enough to have the bike on paddock stands and work on it with enough room to maneuver, without being crouched over like an old dot?

Bike is a 636.

I am also probably going to get an enduro over the winter months knowing my penchant for two stroke.

Cheers for the input everyone.
