Garden sentry project
Discussion
Been having trouble with Fox’s digging holes all over the garden and attacking our pet Tortoise resulting in a £400 vet bill (Tortoise fully recovered now with a few scratches to its shell and dented pride).
After a bit of Googling for deterrents, I found this: http://projectsentrygun.rudolphlabs.com
So far I have downloaded and tested the software (all open source) and started gathering some of the required hardware.
Servo’s for turret wired to controller
The plan is to replace the paintball gun with a water cannon (bit safer), and modify the Arduino code to work with a water valve. Hopefully this will be enough of a deterrent to keep the garden fox free.
Even if it doesn't work it will still be a fun project

as you find the equipment can you share the sources & details etc?
interested in protecting my pond fish
The Arduino and servos came from Rapid electronics http://www.rapidonline.com/Home_Hobbies (loads of other usefull bits can be purchased from Rapid as well)interested in protecting my pond fish
Looking at some of the projects on the site the turret can be made from wood, aluminium, plastic etc..
I’m thinking of using a plastic box as the base with the pan (left/right) servo cut into the lid and aluminium to make the support for the tilt (up/down)
