So not naming brands until I get some feedback but....

First time using Pyro cleaning function on my oven last night ended in a cooked oven, potentially the new induction hob and having to kick my daughter out of the house in case it actually burnt down!!

30 minutes into an hrs cleaning function and the oven was "cooked" - smoke everywhere and the control panel was toast with the hob above it taking a massive hit due to the heat coming up.

Not sure I trust it now - engineer coming Monday, but long rant sent to retailer saying lost trust in a 7 week old oven!

Yeah - the retailer fobbed me off this morning, but followed up with an email saying not fit for purpose.

Just waiting for the it wasn't fitted right argument come Monday.

Luckily its on the credit card - I honest don't like to think of what would of happened had that been my wife!!

Pics?

What actually happened did the panel above it melt/catch fire?

These things get so hot they turn wooden handles of griddle pans into dust (ooops)

Sure you didn't just have a fat / oil spillage in there that caught fire and smoked out? (again know what thats like!)
Absolutely nearly brand new at 7 weeks and I just wanted to test it. It started fine then 35 minutes in the fan made a funny noise and I turned round to find smoke everywhere, the panel was off and roasting - the heat coming out was unbelievable round the counter.

It wouldn't stop so I had to switch it off at the wall!

Have to be honest - pretty stressed about it and it wasn't a pretty email to the supplier.

Did it catch fire or just smoke? If you have been cooking things that spit fat up, down , around etc.. then it burns and throws out LOTS of smoke. If I haven't cleaned for a long while it basically leave a black fog in the kitchen. Not pleasant at all.
Just smoked - however, let me be clear that smoke coming from the back of the oven and so much heat from the top of it up through the induction hob and round the sides enough that the control panel cuts out doesn't seem right to me!!

I know it should smoke and for the start it did that to a degree - which I expected.

So not toasted and no massive hit. All squadrons RTB.

So - in the end it turned out to be the secondary fan on the oven not kicking in when it reached 200c.

New fan later and working, but I am arguing the toss with the retailer about the potential long term damage to it and my hob!
