Something for the technically minded.

Due to cock up by kitchen designer, I need a downdraft extractor with an external motor. I'm struggling to find one which shows the dimensions and extractor point options. Essentially the designer forgot to include the motor housing and the only answer is to use a unit with an external motor. Ducting will have to run in channel through concrete floor. I'm hoping motor housing can be at low level and not higher up our external wall and therefore more visible.

I have thrown the problem back to the kitchen company to sort out but I want to look for myself to see what the options are.

It's amazing what you learn when you start these little projects!

I'm on the case with the supplier. I've had to give them a great deal of grief, along the lines of get it sorted or bring your van tomorrow and take the entire kitchen away as it is sat in my garage unused and isn't fit for purpose. Already a week since problem first identified.

Hopefully everything will get resolved today. Fingers crossed.

I've sent all the relevant details of the external motor options and await some feedback.

Meanwhile, thank you so much for all your help. Google doesn't always give the answer easily... Some of the options mentioned I've never heard of before despite searching over the weekend.

Thanks again.

PS I'm glad I don't run my business that way!
