Can management company force you to use their contractor

Appreciate some advice
I own a flat where the management company have polled owners on whether we use their contractor to carry out external painting
I obviously voted no but given the number of residents who said no wasn't achieved to let each person do it themselves or chose their own contractor they are now forcing me to use their contractor to carry out the works along with everyone else
Can they do this?
The flat is a one bed with two external Windows and my potential liability is £750ish. Whilst I appreciate there will be some communal areas which need doing, I think £750 is crazy.
The flat is in Yorkshire so we aren't talking crazy London contractor rates here!
What can I do to stop them forcing me into an unfair position?
