I am about to have repair done on the insurance and the roofer has sggested a hydrofuge which is basically a waterproofer and anti algi all in one.
Has anybody done it and was it worth it.I would do it my self and use a clear coat if worth it.

The roof was last about 30 years ago,I'm told but could be older.I want it to last another 15 years, which is roughly how long we think we will be there before moving on.
The repair is on the insurance not the treatment, hence my scepticism to how effective it is.The roofer gave an indication that to redo the complete roof, when it needed doing, would be in the region of 40000Euro.
