I made the mistake of buying a cheap WiFi CCTV camera from Amazon that allows you to view the live footage on your phone and supposedly records to an SD card within the camera. The live footage through the app works fine but it's temperamental when it comes to viewing back the footage and corrupts SD cards for fun. I've tried numerous SD cards with no luck.

Basically, it's not much use.

Does anyone know of any decent 1/2 camera systems that use WiFi to connect to a DVR which I could then connect to my router (by ethernet cable)? Ideally the DVR would have a HDMI connection so I could playback through my main TV. The option to view via smartphones/iPads would be good too.

This seems to have all of the functions but is it too good (and too cheap) to be true? I don't really need four cameras either... https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01GJ45J56/ref=wl_it_d...

Cheers

Thanks for the replies.

The cloud is indeed an option - a pretty good sounding option actually.

Will check the link above and look into Arlo.

Cheers.

The Arlo Q Plus camera looks great. The only trouble is, it's not weather proof. Which is a shame as I like the fact that it can save footage to an SD card if there's any network issues. Not sure if I'm keen on their battery powered options.

The Nest Outdoor camera looks like a decent system but you've got to pay them £80.00 a year for cloud storage. Nest is winning so far.
