I have a large mirror thats 2.5cm deep and weighs about 50kg. It used to be an industrial metal warehouse mirror now made into a mirror. It has no fixings and can't be drilled into the frame. I was thinking of L shaped brackets with U shaped ones on top. However struggling to find the right size or shape. not sure what to do.

Sounds like a Mega Hook is what your need. They hold about 100lbs or just under 50kg but you can double them up

It could be heavier .. not sure I would trust that

A local blacksmith (if you can find one!) should be able to create some fixtures for you.
Might be the best option

It looks a bit like a window, how about a shelf to support the weight (it'd look a bit like a sill)
not that bad an idea but not sure its the look I want.

Thinking of getting 4 L shape brackets for the bottom and 2 U shape ones for the top. So you push the mirror into the top U shape ones and rest in on the bottom ones.
