Hi All

We had a painter paint fill the stairs and then paint them. Filling wasn't great, it looks like my attempts at icing a cake.

We are now left with this...

He says it's because I asked him to make the paint darker and so he used a non-floor-paint paint to blend to make the floor-paint darker.

However, I don't know if it's the filler seeping through the paint. Or another issues causing a leaching through the paint as shown.

Then again, the top step has the most filler and does not have the same issue. The other steps all get wet.

He wants another £70 to paint in a different paint. I'm loathe to do this and will just do it myself.

Any thoughts?

Grateful for suggestions of paint to use in tip of this that will give a proper finish.

Thanks

Product Recommendations appreciated.

It's looked fine initially after it dried.
Then after a few days it started looking worse.
Now it looks as shown.

Stairs are not slippery at all.

Er...£70 the step right?

Get out there, quick sand, chuck more on.

Spend £50 on fine wine, Belgium chocolates and the smell of your pipe as you sit back and relax?
Right, some good paint and half an hours work.
Probably take less time than finding someone to do it for you. smile
Not sure why you think I'm paying someone £70?
Is this how Trump makes facts?

You said in the original post that the painter wants another £70 to repaint it….I think that is why they think you have paid someone £70.
I also said, in the very next sentence...
