Zanussi ZWF1237W Washing Machine..Error code E30.. Help!!

Any tame washing machine experts out there?
As per title the error code is E30, not listed in the manual (only 10, 20 & 40), however some t'internet digging suggests a drain/filter blockage. Checked that, seems fine.
Plus, symptoms are as follows:
Machine cycle starts off ok, fills with water, drum rotates etc, but after 20 minutes goes straight to drain, missing out rinse and spin.
Is it fixable, or am I looking at a tip trip, followed by Argos online?
Any help appreciated.

Cleaned the drain pipe that goes out through the wall and the flexi hose and all OK.

Yes, that's my first stop, I think a flush out with a hose pipe is required.
It's a second hand machine at my niece's house, so if that fails I think she'll have to invest in a replacement, rather than bugger about further.

I unscrewed that item, and clear water ran freely, save for a small amount of gunk and a 5 pence piece, but it didn't look like a filter though, just an overlong sort of drain plug. Gave it a clean and stuck it back in.
