Intruder Alarm Help Needed
Discussion
Any alarm installers fancy doing me a favour - I'm having trouble with the wiring for 2 external sounders (well I think that's what is is).
Using a Menvier TS900 panel with Gardiner Nova Delta SAB's.
I've found some installation guides for the SAB's but they seem to be a bit vague/incomplete.
Thanks in advance

Thanks for the reply. I have this manual (which I only found yesterday & was an improvement on the previous one I had - not the used guide - its only 18 pages & didn't have the diagram for the sounder connections. I guess this kit is fairly old-hat now.

The wiring on your diagram is different from how it is presently wired (see below)
Below is from one data sheet for the SAB that I found. I lists more terminals than the one at the bottom & the title is the best match for the model installed (although the description for the SAB's is from the original install letter).
Below is another data sheet for an SAB. It describes the SAB/SCB jumper setting for two sounders, whereas the previous one doesn't. Is this setting needed? Does it matter which one has the SCB (if it is to be used)?
The diagram on this one matches yours, however as can be seen, there is an extra terminal on the SABs (TMP F).
Thanks again for the help

aux tamper will be the bell box tamp assuming you have the control panel lid on.
So the wiring in your second diagram matches how it is actually wired. The jumpers are both set to SAB.
The system will not set due to Aux TMP
Where the system goes into alarm when a cover is removed, the sounders operate but the strobes don't.
Anything else to check?

Hi
Very rearly do we have pcb faults from new. You have just got to eliminate each tamper until it clears.
I have not fitted this panel but some can have Aux tamp doing different things so.................
1 Aux tamp terminals....you have linked out. So not that
2 Connect a wire from h/o- to Tr on bell connections in panel. This will get rid of any bell box problems
3 Make sure remote keypad tamper is working correctly
4 obvious I know, you have been trying to reset with the control panel lid on I take it
Its not a zone tamper as these give you a circuit number as well
Thanks Alan. It's an old system, installed when the previous owner was here around 2001.Very rearly do we have pcb faults from new. You have just got to eliminate each tamper until it clears.

Tried the H/O- to TR- short, problem solved. So, I need to check the connections.
Edit 1: The circuit wiring away from the panel is open between H/O- & TR-
Edit 2: Opening of the tamper switch does nothing on one of the SAB's.

2 hours later & I can't find the problem.
However, I put in the direct link between H/O- & TR- at the panel.
Closed up all the SABs. The Strobe light began flashing (which is hasn't done for months).
I then took the link out.
Problem seems to have gone.
What's all that about then?
One thing I did notice - the resistance between the green & whit to the farthest SAB is 10 ohms (it's a long run). Is this too high?
I am truly baffled
Anyway, thanks for all your help with
