Hi Chaps and particularly Ferg,

I have a recently fitted (6months) Remeha Advanta combi. It sometimes has an annoying whistling comming from the boiler or maybe the rads (difficult to tell). It only happens when the heating is on and not when the hot water is. Could it be that I have the heating too high or something else? Currently I have set the hot water to circulate at 90c..

Many thanks

Pete

Good questions, not tried it yet as only just thought about it. I will try tonight. Just trying to get any other ideas.

Thanks Simpo. Kettling is a word that has come up in my search but usually refers to older boilers with scaling problems. However, it does make sense. You are wise grass hopper.

Well, turned the heat down last night, it was actually 83 not 90 as I said. Anyway it has made a big difference. You can still hear it a little but not so much that you want to beat it to death with it's own innards.

The whistling is back. Bolier temp is now 75c and it's as loud as ever. It's definately the boiler and not the rads. Could it be air trapped in the boiler somewhere? If so how do I check or get rid of it? Of course I could ring the chap who fitted it but this time of year!!!
