Taking pets to europe?

Hello:

I am trying to get together a last minute driving trip to Munich.
Plan is to drive to Folkestone tomorrow and come back on Easter Monday.

Problem is that we have a cat and it's a bit too late to sort things out for her. Another part of me thinks that it would be quite awesome to bring her to Munich with us!

So what rules and regulations are there regarding bringing pets across the channel? Is it a simple case of chucking her into the carrier and off we go? Or am I suppose to have done loads of paper work prior to bringing her?

Argh.. looks like it's too late then!
