Spotted a pair of robins going in and out my garage through and open window this morning, had a look and spotted a neatly stacked pile of leaves on the shelf at the back, the nest is still being built.

Obviously i'm going to minimise use of the garage as much as possible, but am i likely to disturb them if i go in and out or open the garage door. The nest is right at the back up high so fairly out of the way.

Ok, so I think the camera is working over the interweb. go to http://cf4994.myfoscam.org:8090 Username Robin Password Robin

Please have a try and let me know of any problems.

Not much happening right now obviously and the night vision picture is a bit grainy.

They seem to be building the nest actually behind the boat, bit of a shame it can't be seen better but hopefully when they actually move in proper and lay eggs there'll be a lot more activity. I cannot move the cam any closer for fear of disturbing them.

Now I've just got to figure out how to set the cam to take a still picture when the motion detection is triggered.

It's quite cool if i do say so myself. The cam is on auto day/night setting at present so if we get sunny days it should kick into high res colour. Never done anything like this before so it's been educational. They've been quite active in the mornings, not so much today as it was raining like a very rainy thing!!

Hi, i took it offline the other day when my internet connection died. I also thought they had abandoned the nest as i'd not seen any comings or goings for a few days.
Pleased to say i've just seen what i think is the female popping her head out. I'll get the cam back online later and let you know.

So it seems the robins have been active for a few days, I've just not seen them going in and out.
The camera has a motion detection built in, it's configured to take a snapshot every time movement is detected. I logged into the camera tonight to find hundreds of photo's on the sd card. The firs one was taken around about dawn this morn, The female I think is in the nest behind the boat and the male comes in to say good morning. The next one is just a random shot taken during the day.

The motion detector is sensitive enough to be triggered by a bee, bottom left of image. smile

Here's a video captured today. Judging by the size I think it's the female carrying eggs. http://youtu.be/82lxiWfo3BQ

There are chicks in the nest and the parents have been busy going in and out with food (and taking away the poop)

Got plenty of captured video that i'll be uploading to youtube and i'll post the link when done.

Yesterday all the baby robins flew the nest! Think there were 5 chicks in total. I haven't seen the fledglings since flying off but both parents have been around feeding.

The last one to leave wasn't too sure about going, even going back to the nest for a kip for about an hour before finally flying off.

I've got hundreds and hundreds of video clips, These are just a few clips of the chicks venturing out the nest/flying off.
