This morning around 9am we fed the cats some wet food in a clean bowl, our friends arrived for lunch at 12pm and we went outside to eat around 1pm.

At about 2pm I went inside to get some more drink and noticed white things in the cat food bowl, upon closer inspection I noticed lots - circa 100 little white things were in the bowl!

The door had been wide open since going outside so presumably they've just flown in and done their thing. Everything such as cat litter and bin is replaced often to keep flies from being attracted that way.

Any suggestions to keep flies out of the house and more specifically from laying maggots in the food! yuck

They point blank refuse to eat dry food unless they're starving. We've tried different brands and they'll only eat it if they have to "/

We were thinking of just letting them eat then put bowl in fridge until they want it again.

I've got some old net curtains I could use, only for when window is wide open like it is usually smile
