At the moment, my house bunny is currently residing in a large hutch with open top run area. She's put in every night and is happy enough however over the last few nights she has been the attention of a rather large fox. I chased it away twice, and also shone a million candlepower torch at it from the bedroom window a few times which made it scarper.

She is very secure in the hutch, but it is obviously stressing her out, and she spent three hours last night thumping, and has been quite subdued today.

It's not practical to bring her indoors at the moment, so I need some ideas or experience of deterring foxes from the garden. I've seen "Scoot" advertised as being a fox pheromone solution, and also ultrasonic devices, but I don't know if these will affect the rabbit, or the resident yap-rat dog.

I no longer have a rifle, and besides the bedroom window only opens at the top so couldn't get a clear shot anyway! And I don't think the kids would like to find either a fox carcass or pieces of rabbit in the garden.

Any other suggestions?

I forgot about this topic - sorry for non reply!

Big animal piss is what a few people have suggested, and when I worked in Chester there was a guy who knew some of the keepers at the zoo so would get bags of hay soaked in Tiger wazz that he put around his chicken coop.

I've ordered some spray from Amazon which is supposed to work, but in the short term I've taken a more "organic" approach following a few suggestions that human piss also deters them. So far, fox hasn't been spotted again but I'm not taking any chances.

I've got some Jeyes fluid in the garage so will put some down at the weekend.

Cheers!
