Ted is an 8 year old Persian cat, who needed a new home because his owner had an accident and had to go into sheltered housing, so he came to live with us on Saturday.

We thought he'd be very nervous of the change and new house, but he walked straight out of his carry case, had a sniff around and plonked himself down on the sofa next to us. He's always been a house cat and we're planning on keeping him that way.

He hasn't eaten a great deal since he's been with us, but is drinking. We had one night of meowing and crying as he wanted to be in with us (I assume), but last night was fine.

He lets us brush him, and seems to enjoy it. The first time we brushed him we were a bit nervous of being too rough or upsetting him, until he flopped over so we could do his tummy.

Off to the vets at the end of the week to get him checked over and registered, which hopefully won't be too traumatic for the little fella.

Anyway, intoducing our first cat - Ted...

By way of an update, Ted seems to be settling in well, and we returned home yesterday to find him really dusty - given we're in a new flat I have no idea where he might have been exploring!

Lots of toys on order, although he goes from wanting to play fetch with a small ball to looking at us like we're dirt if we offer him the same ball, so not sure how successful they will be.

He still isnt really eating (we dont think), so we've weighed his food this morning and will see how much he eats exactly per day. We've tried a few differnt foods and 5 or 6 different treats... he turns his nose up at all of the treats!

Vets on Friday for a checkup and probably to microchip him, in case he wanders off at some point.
