We are at our wits end with our giant rag doll Max.

Every night without fail he wants to play at 4am. So to wake us he claws the carpet to shreds. Then jumps around throwing toys and generally being a pest and looked down on with disdain by our well behaved other boy.

So each morning he gets shut in kitchen with access to garden but by then we are awake.

We don't want to throw him out all night. He's a valuable cat and we don't want him wandering off.

The idea of covering his front paws just at night with baby socks or for amusement as in title, willy warmers came into my mind.

Am I being hopelessly optimistic he will keep them on or does anyone have an alternative to stopping him ruining our carpet.

Or worse still is this cruel? Love him so much but it's worse than having a baby in the house.

Edited to say he has a huge scratching post which he uses too but likes to warm up on the carpet.

Help us get some sleep, pleeeeeeese.

Shut him in the kitchen at night with a catbed. Lock the catflap/access to outside.
Yes but we have another boy who is well behaved and goes in and out all night. That also answers the other reply re getting a friend. They get on great but Max is an adorable git.

Pull them off and take a dump on them I would imagine!

I don't know what I think of these;

No no no. They look awful. Tempting but not right. Just can't see my 7kg Max wearing false nails. Siiigh.

All joking aside it is a dilemma. Always had cats, sometimes 2, recently till old age got them, 5 . Never experienced such a naughty boy.
