As I expect you know from the other thread my dear Sonny had to be PTS on Monday.
I have been offered a Yorkshire Terrier or as some people call them a pumped up rat. She will be approx 3 years old and will be available in about 5 weeks time.

Done a bit of Googling and although there is area a lot of sites they are giving many conflicting messages.

So perhaps someone who owns one can tell me about them.

Thanks all. I already have a Lhasa Apso so I know about yapping so another one won't make that much difference on that front...as for the territorial side of things Poppy used to get humpy if Sonny went near her tea and true to her breed is a great guard dog for telling me if anything has changed. Question is could I (or more importantly the neighbours) tolerate two yappers.

Don't worry she will be a dog not some fashion item so mud rolling, swimming etc. are all OK and bows in the hair are a big no no! Plus she will be stripped in the summer. Poppy has already been given the summer chop.

I will have to find out if she is a mini Yorkie but I dunno if that will make a difference. Will it?

Have to look up about fitting and peeing.

It will in size wink
Just wondering if it will result in even smaller dog syndrome.

Barking. Well I already have a Lhasa Apso and they are the worlds noisiest buggers. So thats not too much of a concern (except the poor neighbours!).

I am going to ask more about the dog today. Very tempted.

Photos please.
Here lies the problem. I am getting the dog via a third party and I don't really know anything about her apart from being a female and three. What I am worried about is if they don't hit it off as I can hardly hand her back. The woman is going to collect her if I want her in about 5 weeks.

Such a hard choice.

My Lhasa Poppy is female. We have had two females before and they have been OK. But I don't know about the Yorkie breed at all.

Poppy has been really strange over the last week. She really is missing Sonny and has been very, very quiet but I CANNOT just get another dog for her benefit.
