Our cat (Olive) has brought us some little jumping presents.

We do treat her, but forgot over the last few months and she has fleas, this weekend we started getting bitten ourselves around our ankles. So Saturday was spent flea powdering, hoovering every surface and then spraying. Problem is this doesn't seem to have worked as I woke up this morning with a load more bites.
They're definitely fleas, we've managed to capture a few using the plate and light trick.

So does anyone have any tricks to get these little fkers?
I've just ordered one of these http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00DED39V2?psc=... but that won't solve the issue instantly, which is what I want. Are we talking full fumigation or something?

Thankings!

Get some powder and then do the shake and vac. Wash all your soft furnishings.

The trap you've linked too is the best weapon in your coming battle. Make sure to move it around the house, so you get them all.
Shake and vac done, twice already. Also used spray from Tesco, although don't think this way very good. Olive has been treated too.

You need Indorex (veterinary flea spray, licensed to kill not only fleas but also house dust mites)

Do the whole house with it
Thank you. Have ordered some.

Which flea treatment are you using on the cat? Dont use Frontline, we noticed about 18 months or so ago that it wasnt working at all, according to teh vet its quite well known, we now use Advocate which does working as well, does the job perfectly, no scratchy pets smile
Honestly, no idea. Mrs went to the vet and got something on Sat and applied it. Told us we'd need to do it again in a few weeks.

Update:

Used a can of Indorex (got another as a spare). Using the light thingamjigga up there ^^^.

We seem to have stemmed the problem. We've not been bitten in the last 24 hours, and we haven't found any more of the hoping little buggers. Quite a few caught by the light thing but guess the Indorex has killed most of them off. I'm going to run the whole house again this weekend with the 2nd can.

Thanks for all the help.

Next on the list, get a little friend for Olive.

She needs a friend biggrin
We think she's about 4-5 (rescue). Thinking a kitten could be fun.
