Hi

We picked up our 14 week old kitten last Saturday and all is fine except he's not had a solid stool since he came home. We've not changed his diet from what he was on at breeders (Royal Canin kitten dry and cooked chicken) but every time he poos it's diarrhea (one average one to two a day). Otherwise he's doing well, full if energy etc

We've had him at the vet for a general check up and mentioned this - vet said to monitor for 2 weeks as it's likely stress of settling in as he was healthy otherwise (she checked him over fully). Does this sound reasonable or should I take him back - he has some fresh red seepage again vet said not to worry about this unless it changes from being slight and fresh red.

Thanks

Thanks very much for the replies and advice I'll get the RC sensitive today and try that out. He's eating and drinking ok just seems such a long time to have not had a solid stool.
Just to let you know I hand wash the dishes.

He had his vaccinations a couple of weeks ago before we picked him up from breeders. I'm going to take him back to the vets Monday just wondered if anyone had any suggestions in interim. Thanks all

Yeah I've gone out to breeder awaiting reply. I am going to get him to vets on Monday with a sample, if anything changes in meantime off course I'll take him to emergency out of hours.

Again thanks all for feedback - it's hard to focus sometimes when you are worried about them

Thanks for the info I'll collect more samples to take.

Sorry to hear about your ongoing issue with your cat - must be miserable for them to have that for so long frown

Hi the vet yes it is Loki and Gail has been in touch and very helpful! Since he's been on medicine he's no longer got blood in stools but still nothing solid so far. Our vet is treating him for giardia, he's very happy in himself and full of energy and vet is delighted with his health etc. So we just need to get his tummy sorted - still feeding him as advised. Thanks for the reply
