Hi all,

Our Male Rottweiler Flash is 18 months old and has been in the wars a bit.

He has had Hot Spot twice now which is a pain as he needs to be put in a lamp shade which he really isn't happy about. Both times his hot spot was near his neck. Nothing found there when it was treated.

He lost a toe nail after some exuberent running around.

He recently had a lump on his leg, we had to wait 2 weeks for it to be chopped out today but this last weekend it got quite angry, started to smell and was the size of a 50p piece.

Once removed they found lots of smaller lumps around the same area. The lump could be grabbed, squeezed and generally messed with and cause no pain even till the end. He just wanted to chew it. I was surprised at how big the scar is....

3 days with no walks and up to 10 with very small ones will not please him, he's a very athletic Rotweiler and only yesterday went for a 10 mile walk with me and was running around throughout.

Has anyone had anything similar?

He has great fur, a huge apetite, is up to date with worming and jabs etc and is doing well on his raw diet eating about 2.5 kilos a day. He's currently a svelte 44 kilos with 3 ribs showing and is full of energy. Good teeth, no smelly breath and generally a happy dog.

Is there a way to boost his immune system or is he just an unlucky bugger?

The lumps are getting sent away for analysis so if it's anything sinister that will be dealt with but any advice or experiences will be great, he isn't a happy boy being put under house arrest.

What are you feeding him?
He has mixed veg, from peppers to peas, carrots, onion etc etc.
Natures menu mince, normally tripe and chicken or lamb.
Heart, a mix of a local farm shops dog food which has liver, kidney, skirt etc.

He has one large cup of heart, 3 large cups of the mince and a level cup of the veg. Alternates between raw egg (including shell) and a fish oil.

He snacks on lamb ribs, turkey necks, duck necks and the odd lamb spine.

Breakfast, a snack for lunch, then the same as breakfast for dinner.

MIL's collie had lots of bumps....these seem to have sorted it...but it took a while (and £) to find something that worked. Renewed carpets, biopsies, allergy tests.
Hope this helps

I hope it's relatively simple to fix and he is just allergic to something.

He has just had his normal vaccinations from puppy stage.

He's walking fine on his leg but only on a lead in the garden so he can go to the toilet, he's positively raring to go for a walk.
