Looking at a second dog

So our Cockapoo bh is now 2 years old and we are thinking of getting a companion for her. Contacted a breeder with a litter of Cockapoos and she seems to be unwilling to sell us another bh. Seems to think that generally 2 bhes don't get on and that we could have problems further down the line.

What are your experiences of this. Our existing bh has been spayed and we would also have the new one spayed when she gets old enough. Are we heading for a world of pain and should we go for a boy this time?

Both of our families have only ever had bhes, so I guess that is what we are used to.
