We also have a Shih Tzu, a more lazy dog you couldn't imagine, 5 minutes in the garden, and she's done for the day. This guys going to be a shock to the system isn't he.

He has already worked out how to get on the sofas.

I understand this is a favorite place for longdogs.

It looks like the breeder lied.

They said he was house trained, and good on the lead.

They lied on both accounts, we would still have taken him, but wish they had told the truth, as who knows what else they lied about.

bex, thank you.

Our other dog is a Shih Tzu, and a harder breed to toilet train, you couldn't imagine.

We knew he would still need work, but when you are told he's made a start, you don't expect to have to start again from the beginning.

I will try the coat idea, as the rain today has put him off.

He will grow into his coat.

If you do carry on using a collar only, it would be a good idea to get a sighthound (fishtail) collar as it is more suited to their delicate necks.
I tried to get one, but couldn't find a small enough one.

I may try a harness now though.

Little update.

The toilet training is going very well.

He is getting better at walking on the lead, but dislikes people walking behind him, he will sit, and wait until the go past him, or are far enough away in the opposite direction.

He's getting on with Wicket far better, and ignoring the cats.

Lets hope he keeps it up.

P.S. he is growing very quickly.

The other dog is our girl Wicket, she is looking sorry for herself as she was due at the groomers, but has a cold.

Not wishing to steal the thread from Frankie but it'd rude to refuse the request of other whippet pics from a poster smile

Little update, he has already out grown the collar, and coat in the first pictures.

He can be walked off the lead, recall is about 96% there.

He still doesn't like people behind him, but getting better.

He has LOADS of energy.
