My collie (well x jr, but not much jr!) is a tough bugger and like most collies can run/work till he collapses, hes quite small and light which aides his stamina more.

The only issue he has is that gravel or rough paths are like Kryptonite to him, hes fine on grass and general walks through winter but in spring summer when we go for 2 hour walks + if he runs around on gravel paths his paw pads get ripped to pieces. Sometimes its only one, once it was all of them and I had to carry him home. They heal up after a few days, but its always the same story.

Anyone recommend any paw protection boots ? I notice there are various options, not sure which is best.

Would like to do some longer all day walks in the summer, these would be ideal for them, as I don't fancy being 10 miles from home with a limping dog!

cheers

Cheers for that, I had to google Bikejor, that looks ace. My collie loves pulling me down the park on my bike, I cant believe how an 8kg dog can pull 90kg of me and bike without breaking a sweat. One of the reasons I went out with him less on the bike is that all the paths are gravel.
