Found a baby bird. Anything I can do?

I was in my conservatory and noticed something wriggling on the roof. A closer look revealed it was a baby bird. I have no idea where it's come from, I have no nests on my roof. It has some feathers but it's mostly just skin.

I'm guessing it will die? I fished it off the roof with a broom and have wrapped it in a towel, but it isn't looking too good. I don't even know how far it's fallen.

Great, thanks for that. I've rolled him up in a towel and put him on the radiator and he's perked right up. Looking at the bird identification sheet he looks like a sparrow, but he's quite big.
