Never been to either although often go to Italy.
We are mature couple but like both the beach in the day and a buzzy town to walk round in the evening.
Do not want English pubs and all that (no offence to those that do).
So any ideas please on location, suitability and good hotels in either.
Thanks,Steven

Tanks Tom really useful info.
I share your view of restaurants in Italy
For a change from Italy I visited Madrid and Barcelona recently and found Spain better value.

Thanks Doublesix . Can you advise a resort that would fill my criteria as mentioned above.
I don't want it to be too remote.

Thanks Doublesix. I prefer not to drive when away,I just don't want the hassle.
I prefer to stay in the bustle and take days out on the bus or coach to the villages.

Don't get me wrong I enjoy driving my own cars it's just that I like to 'turn off' when I'm away. Maybe I'm turning into an old fart.

Went to Formentera last year and really enjoyed it. Es Pujols is the main town but we stayed on the south of the Island.
This place was nice but we didn't stay there.

Everyone gets around on scooters although taxis can get you around the island too.

Oh and the beach is brilliant.
