Might be going to Miami for a few days possibly. All my previous trans Atlantic flights have been with Virgin, but I notice that BA operate a similar flight at a similar price from the same airport (Heathrow).

Never flown long haul with BA, any particular preference for one over the other on this trip?

Much of a muchness if flying economy in my experience.

Have a look at Norwegian I believe they fly from gatwick to Fort Lauderdale which is close to Miami and I've read that they're very cheap
It will be economy (sadly), but beyond that I'm not paying so more interested in best experience (or at least, least worse since I'm cattle class! biggrin )

Depends. Do you read the Sun or the Telegraph?
Neither, but I'd align myself more toward the latter.

I had a couple of really bad flights with Virgin switched to BA and all sweet - so far.

I'd sooner fly 777 than 747 given the choice. Don't know who flys what to Miami.
My previous flights with Virgin have been absolutely fine (better than fine actually, since coming back overnight I had a row of three seats to myself twice so could lie down). Just curious as to people's experience and whether to try BA this time.

What made you change (and then stay)?

Having spoken to BA cabin staff on the route, they told me the BA planes are always full (because of code sharing, shared network and cruise traffic). You're more likely to find empty seats next to you with Virgin.

As both are pretty much similar in service, that would push me towards Virgin if I wasn't earning BA points.
That's worth an awful lot! My last two night flights back I've been lucky enough to have three seats to myself. Bliss! Means you can lie flat (if a bit scrunched up). They were both Virgin out of Orlando though.
