Hi all, well were looking to buy in France a small house in a village with all the usual shops and bars restaurant's not too long a drive from the ports so Brittany comes to mind .
looking for contacts for prices of property recommendations of where to stay .

local airports and carriers from the south east of England would be an advantage

not sure which part of france to chose although a mild winter climate would be an advantage .
be grateful to hear of any experiences costs of buying process etc
cheers

Mild winter = near the coast. Our house in Sarthe(72)/Indre-et-Loire(37) border regularly sees -10 in winter. That said, for a -10 night, the next day is likely to involve t-shirts in the sun! The village is La Chartre sur le Loir - famous in these circles for its Aston Martin based bar. Quite a few expats in the area.

Tours has a daily flight from Stansted and is 55 minutes from Paris on the TGV.

Brittany will offer warmer winter temps, but cooler/wetter summers. And plenty of storms during winter too.
SOUNDS LIKE AN OPTION WILL LOOK INTO VISITING THE ARE SONN ,ANY AGENTS WORTH CONTACTING IN THE AREA ?
