Heading over at the weekend. Any good places to go? Places not to visit?

Also I normally use a shuttle service/taxi, but a hire car was £60 for the week. Easy to find my way from Paphos airport?

I'll e on my own for a few of the days so may find myself just relaxing in the sun.

Thanks.

Nice. It's for my friends wedding. So I'm not complaining if it's quiet. smile

I imagine a few days will be spent drinking, but wouldn't mind having a drive around and just getting lost. Any tips on driving out there?

Thanks everyone.

I'm expecting it to be a bit of booze fest, but if I get up early I should be able to do some exploring and catch up with the group later.

Back at the hotel at the moment. Had a day of exploring today. Drove up a mountain on the way to Polis. Took some amazing photographs. I managed to get lost and had to backtrack after coming to muddy roads and deciding not to risk it. Visited the Tomb Of Kings for a little while on the way through Paphos.

After having dinner tonight and everyone going back to have an early night I drove up to Kathikas and watched the lights of the towns and traffic below and then explored some little villages, which seem a bit more real, rather than tourist themed.

I thought that I'd be a bit lost on my own when not with the group, but it's easy to keep yourself occupied without having to worry about others. Only problem is the 'selfie' photographs. smile

I was hoping to do more and there are some great suggestions here, but five days with helping out for the wedding and socialising I'm beginning to think that I shouid have booked for longer. I've even taken to the hire car - an old Nissan Almera with a vague gear change and whining driveshaft.

Overall a charming little place and I can imagine it's only better with the better weather. Thanks again all. I'll have to come back to a different part another time.

I'm tempted to cut back on the alcohol tomorrow so that I can drive the day after the wedding and actually go to some of destinations that are further away.

Thanks all.
