I'm planning a trip to Australia at the moment and I can go via Hong Kong using my air miles, however I'm not sure of the situation there. Are the protests quite widespread still? Are they a reason to not go or are they quite contained still?

I'm looking to go in Feb

Iam there for just two nights in four weeks time, on route to NZ . My agent says there is no problem. As for air miles , I have to book way more ahead than you are planning, how you doing it ?
It's not until Feb, so there is a decent range of options. It's en-route to Aus, but having looked around at my options, I might now be going via Tokyo and home through Singapore.

If you have the option, go via Tokyo and HKG instead of Singapore. I went to all 3 last year and loved Tokyo and HKG. Wasn't so fussed about Singapore though!
Oddly enough, that's the decision that was made last night. I've been to both before (not for a long time to Singapore) but the people I'm travelling home with haven't been before, so HKG it is.
