Arrive at Malaga airport on 17th August for the week and will need to hire a car for 2 adults and 3 kids (18months, 3 and 6).

It's not something I can say I've ever done but looking on a fews car hire rental sites it just feels like they are out to rape your wallet somehow. Got a quote for a Citroen Berlingo (should be ideal) and it was £145 for the week. Add an infant seat, child seat and a booster and it's an extra £95! You can buy 3 seats for that nearly.

To save me arsing about trawling the web will someone please just tell me what to buy smile

Helle Hollis are excellent. www.hellehollis.com There are normally some useful members discount codes floating around Tripadvisor as well.
30 euro off with this H4589..

Makes them €43 cheaper than Carlos but double the excess.... What to do!!

After the Berlingo with 2 boosters and 1 baby seat BTW.

....
Good tip!

Then went to http://www.direct-carexcess.co.uk/ via the moneysaving expert site and got 8 days cover for less than £14.

Sorted.

Here's a tip if you're getting a car from Malaga airport and have a young family with you (this was me, with my old username): http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

This happened right outside the Goldcar office in the car park, and they just shrugged their shoulders and walked off - I will never use them again. My daughter still starts shaking whenever we're in an underground car park mad
Blimey, I think ths money belt type bags might be a good idea for putting all the important documents in then

Did you get free use of the Orlando villa then?

Got back from our spanish trip today and must say that Helle Hollis were excellent.

Transfer bus waiting on arrival, got 18 of us on in one go, 5mins to the depot and we were all on our way within 30mins, even got a complementary bottle of water each, nice touch. Car was spot on and returning it was just as easy. Would deffo use them again.

Off to France on Firday - I hope Europcar are similarly efficient.
