Hi all,
Looking for a beach relaxation holiday in September time, possibly October.
Was thinking Borneo - but understand the weather might be changeable, but I do understand it'll be better than Thailand.

We have flights to KL booked, but can go anywhere from there (within reason). We've looked at the Shangri-La at Rasa Ria which looks about right, but any other recommendations on other locations? Was thinking Malaysia/Indonesia area and looking for a nice beach, luxury hotel with things to do near by i.e. snorkelling.

Any suggestions?

Cheers

Cheers for the replies, we were thinking about Maldives and Langkawi too, but as I'm using BA miles I cant get availability everywhere...
KL and Hong Kong have availability and I've got my companion voucher to use too.

I was originally set on Langkawi but since talking to friends, they've told me it's a "party" island and we're going away to chill out more than anything as we've had a rather busy year so far.

Anyone been to Borneo (KK in particular). It's a huge country so struggling to decide what to do!

Interesting...glad to know that though - we'll probably return.

For anyone that's interested, we ended up booking flights to Hong Kong, a couple of days there before flying to Borneo for 10 nights at the Rasa Ria. Flying back to Kuala Lumpur before heading home to London.

Looking forward to flying on the A380, will report back on what it's like!

We're looking at both of these on Langkawi, sounds right up our street to be honest.

Don't suppose you did any diving there? (sorry for the thread hijack.)
Not at all - would be interested myself too.
We looked at both of those hotels and spoke to friends that had been there too. They mentioned that the Andaman was more family friendly, therefore the Datai was their recommendation

Are you going to be staying in KL at all?
Yup, staying at the Intercontinental for a night before flying home. Will you be staying there too?

We're only going IC due to millions of hotel points, but reading the reviews it looks like a nice place too.
Right beside the Petronas towers and good transport links. I have a friend who lives there who suggested here too:
