Week camping Penzance Sunday

So booked campsite January paying deposit. Purchased all the gear this being our first family holiday my son is 3 next month and my daughter 1.
Looking at the forecast it looks fairly grim. Never been in or around Penzance before but holiday was planned around sun, beach BBQ and general outdoor themed activities.
Anyone know what you can do in and around this area before I drive to London tomorrow aquire two passports and go abroad?
