Hi all,

Thinking of an overland trip to and from the following two places....We did the trip several years ago via Dover, Reihms etc, and very enjoyable it was too, but a LONG way round...Took 3 days with stops.

However, this time I am thinking of going from Hull, via Zebbrugge, a couple of hours to Hull and then around six hours on the other side...(according to the net).....

So:- Has anyone done this trip, is the time realistic, and have you any tips?....not looking to break any speed records.......

Also any idea of Ferry prices approx, car is a Zafira tourer.

(The purpose of the trip is a visit to Herrenberg, a charming little town just outside Stuttgart, where my son used to live when he worked for Hewlett Packard).

Thanks to both of you, appreciated.....thumbup

I think, thinking about it, the plane would be the better/cheaper option, we have actually flown before, and hired a nice car at Stuttgart airport, visiting Heidelberg and Neuschwanstein castle on day trips whilst there. (The castle was magnificent covered in snow)

RWM.....Check out, if you get the chance, Herrenberg, it is a charming little town...smile

I travelled from Lichfield to Stuttgart last year by rail, was quite a pleasant journey. It's largely the same trains from Manchester - 0835 from Manchester, arrive Stuttgart 1923. Change in London (walk 10 mins Euston to St Pancras, change in Paris (walk 10 mins Gard du Nord to Gare de Paris-Est, you get about an hour in Paris so time for a quick lunch), then double decker TGV to Stuttgart.
Thanks.
