Off to NZ for a week's work and managed to bookend with a full weekend at either end.

Never having ventured to that part of the world before, grateful for any 'must see / do' suggestions!

Hopefully OP, since you are going to to the land of Aucks, you will be travelling with Malaysia Airlines (they're good despite recent events!) and will only have to stop in KL. Good luck fella!
Thanks - Indeed I am: Via Schipol to KL then on to AKL. Same route back. I'm told it's the least worst option. Plus I'm in Business so I'm hoping it shouldn't be too bad.

Thanks for the advise chaps. Looking forward to the trip.

Well, I'm here! And the PH collective has come good yet again.

Great place. Take the UK, remove crap and hey presto...New Zealand!

I'd recommend Rotorua
Had to go there for a conference. Very interesting place. Looks like a 1950s brochure for housing developments in the US. Smells like farts though!

Auckland War Memorial Museum which I thought was very good. The Sky Tower was good and I had a wander around the Harbour area.
Yep – museum was interesting.

Sky Tower good fun – quite liked the harbour area.

So thanks for the suggestions chaps.

Flight nowhere near as bad as people were suggesting…just soooooo long! Couple of films, bite to eat, sleep, you then wake up, check the map and there’s still 5 hours to go. And that’s just on one leg. Worth it though.
