Berlin travel advice?

Hi, I am flying in to Berlin on Tuesday (Tegel airport), does anyone know the best way to get to Alexanderplatz, ie is there a direct bus service, or how much do taxis usually cost (time will be 12 noon).

Hi quick question, I have bought a travel ticket today but have not yet validated it as it is for use tomorrow on the bus (early morning). There is no ticket validating machine at the bus stop, can I do this once on the bus (is there usually one on board?).

Thanks there was a machine on the bus. As it happens you can buy tickets from the driver too, not just the ticket machines.
