Hello all. Hopefully if all goes well may be able to get a holiday at some stage later in the year.
Only myself and the mrs, and we are looking at private villas with their own private pools. Plan on spending the days round the pool chilling out, and then going out in the evenings for dinner, exploring etc hopefully in harbour/marina type towns and villages. I've not been to Cyprus before but it appears to tick all the boxes that we are after, and we have found some nice villas in that area on the Solmar and James villas websites.

Anyone been, experiences, recommendations, etc??? Also feedback on the villa websites appreciated as this would be a first for us. Probably looking at mid-late September if all goes well this year, as the temperatures at this time still look ideal.
TIA

Lachi and Polis should be, reasonably, quiet at that time of year.
There's a newish harbour/marina at Lachi with a few good restaurants, there are more traditional tavernas in Polis.
If you like peace and quiet, I'd pick Polis, it's quite a trek to the beach but it not as lively at night.
Wherever you end up in Cyprus, hire a car, it's the only way to see the island and get away from the coast.
Get yourselves up in the Troodos mountains, lots of stunning villages and scenery, and some spectacular roads.
Limassol is worth a visit, especially the old town, behind the new marina!
Nicosia is definitely worth a day trip, it's an eye opener, especially the abandoned houses within the "green line"!
Pafos is very touristy and quite expensive, IMO.
The "Rough Guide" book and map are the best ones I've come across!
Oh yeah, don't forget the ice cold Keo!
Thanks all for the info, very much appreciated wink The quieter holiday is certainly what we are after and the old towns, marinas and tavernas is what we'll be looking at in the evenings. I will definetly get a car as i do like exploring places when i'm there, it was always the appeal of the old truck driving job.

br d, ta. We are lucky as its just us now the kids have grown up, so we'll deliberately be looking at going in term time smile We can also go last minute luckily, so i'll take your advice on booking last minute if all goes to plan this year smile
