Norway road trip - hire options?

I suspect I know the answer to this one already. Are there any alternatives to the usual suspects for two one-way hires in Norway (one Stavanger-Bergen, one Trondheim-Narvik). I was hoping for something a bit more inspiring than a Volvo estate...
