Overnight Hotel, Good Food, 1hr from Calais. With Kids!

As many of you know the trek south through France with young kids (in our case 5 yr old twins) can be a real pain.

We were hoping to make things easier by breaking the journey with an overnighter somewhere an hour or so due south of Calais (we're heading for La Rochelle) and thought it would be nice to make it more of an event by finding a nice hotel with a decent restaurant. Ideally we'd like somewhere that has babysitting so the grown ups can have a decent evening meal or maybe somewhere with rooms close enough to the restaurant that an intercom would work.

Does anyone have any suggestions?
