Lake district weekend

Going to head to the Lakes for my wife's birthday in March, booked L'Enclume so looking forward to that

Does anyone have any suggestions on some nice hikes to go on or other activities to do? Just looking for nice scenery, lakes, hills, getting away from the crowds etc.

Bear in mind the roads are really mucked up at the moment with the floods, we're not expecting the A591 to be open until May (at the earliest) which mucks things up royally as it's either mountain passes or the motorway to get from my side of the area to the other.

Forgot about that... but maybe that means less tourists right??
