I've a long weekend coming up in the Peaks. Myself, Mrs PR & (sprightly) 84 y/o MIL + 2 dogs

Because of the dogs no indoors stuff, because of the MIL no really long walks (short flatish, up to a couple of miles ok)

What else is there to see and do?

We're staying @ Tideswell, I've just looked @ the Pavilion gdns, nothing on when we're going.

Not sure about Chatsworth, maybe be able to take dogs into the garden, I'll have to check.

Thanks chaps, it all sounds very agreeable.

Critch tram museum sounds like a good outing, I seem to remember some shopping stuff @ Chatsworth, I'm sure the party would like that, while I give the dogs a run. thumbup

Even the weathers bucking up a bit this weekend.

Ahh that looks good. Are Beeley woods the area behind Chatsworth?

Liking the sound of the Barrel Inn beer

Let me 'throw a slight spanner in the works' consider "The Royal oak" at Hurdlow smile
http://www.peakpub.co.uk/ check out the food page licklicklick
Just don't eat for a couple of days before attending if you do the Sunday roast.
Good shout, and no argument from me

If you need food go here, on the other hand if its a nice evening then sitting outside the Barrel on the ridge with a pint is truly one of lifes pleasures
Thanks, we go through Hurdlow whilst en-route Friday. Ideal for a spot of lunch.

Thanks chaps. Had a super time, I'll update later. We'll be heading home tomorrow (Monday) and wonder if another lunch recommendation may be possible.

The Itinerary is Tideswell>Tissington>Kenilworth

I would think by the time we've finished well dressings @ Tissington some lunch may be in order, we'll be heading down through Ashbourne and onto the A38.

(BTW the Barrel was great for a spot of lunch on Sunday)
