Good evening everyone,

My Grandad lives in Brisbane, Australia and has always mentioned that I should go over for a few months and travel around and see the sights.

After recently being made redundant at my job, and still being only 21, I thought maybe I would take a year out to travel around Australia and work while I am over there.

I would be applying for the Working Holiday Visa ( Subclass 417 ), so can stay for 1 Year, maybe 2 if I meet the criteria and wanted to stay.

Has anyone ever done this or something similar?

First Major question I have is how much money do you think I would need to save before I went? Obviously I know it depends on what I want to do out there, but a just a rough idea to be able to get around locally and sample some local attractions and food.

I dont have any major qualifications, so work wise I would either be doing agriculture or sales, as that is what I have been doing in this country, is the wage out there decent in comparison to the cost of living?

Finally is there any must see things you guys recommend? Even if It was in a nearby country.

Hope you can help!

Cheers biggrin
