Having had brilliant recommendations from the combined wisdom of PH in the past regarding campsites I am after your advice again.
Our family would like a lakeside holiday in the Alps this summer and Lake Annecy looks beautiful, not too huge as we have a young family and close enough to some interesting places (Geneva, Mont Blanc).
Has anyone taken their caravan there before? Where did you stay? Also advice such as where did you break your journey as 12 hours from Calais would be intolerable with a young family.
Sorry for all the questions but PH came up trumps before.
Thanks in advance.

Thank you for all the replies. Your comments have not changed our minds. The problem has been ferry costs for when we want to travel. Because of my job and having a school age daughter we have to go in the summer holidays. The best value option appears to be with Eurocamp Independent as they have a good deal with the ferry companies and have options to have an overnight stop there and back.
Having a folding camper instead of a caravan also saves a bit on autoroute tolls.
Thanks again.
Thanks again.

As for the OP, surely the purpose of a caravan is to allow you to roofie the kids and nail the drive in one whilst they snooze in the back? hehe
I'd love to do it overnight, but that would be me useless for the rest of the holiday! We have driven from Poole to Sheffield non-stop with the kids. It was good timing as we left just in time for our youngest to have his afternoon nap. Daughter is fine as she just watches DVDs.
