Anyone familar with the 'middle' Rhine?

I'm staying in Koblenz for a couple of nights at the end of the week, and one day I'm planning to get the train from Koblenz to a suitable starting point, and then get the boat back to Koblenz, stopping off at a couple of towns on the way back for a couple of hour at each. My 'problem' is that most of the towns look nice, and I'm not sure which to go to!

Currently, I'm looking at starting my trip from Bacharach (after a look around), then I can stop off at any two of either Oberwesel, St. Goar, St. Goarhausen or Boppard. Anyone familiar with this area who could recommend where to stop off?
