Where to stay around Oakland/Berkeley/Richmond, California?

We're doing a California road trip in August and have a few people and places around SF to visit, so for two nights we could do with staying somewhere where we can get to the city, Concord and Marin County easily. The above areas look good, so which would be the 'nicest' bearing in mind that we won't be spending all that much time near the hotel. Maybe it doesn't matter if they're all much the same!

Thanks for the suggestion, but I think that may be a little down market...

Hmm... Sausalito and Pacifica look lovely but I think we'll have to live with the boring area as per the title. I don't think we'll actually be at the hotel much anyway, we've got a lot of ground to cover!
