Just looking for nice places (towns, villages, pubs, attractions ...) to visit next week.

Just 2 of us (mid 20's) we have a spare day, can anyone recommend anything in the area?

The wife wants to look at some shops in a quaint/nice location. Is Marlborough good for this, for reference we are staying right near Highclere.
