Fawsley Hall / New Hall? Other Midlands Spa Hotel?

Morning All.....

Wife is pregnant and due in November.

Looking for a nice hotel with a pool set in a nice location where we can go for a night or two just to relax for a night or two before the arrival.

Thinking afternoon tea, walk in the grounds, soak in the pool. Not much else really.

Budget - Up to £200 per night.

Two that keep coming up are

Fawsley Hall

Anyone stayed at either of the recently? (as they seem to have had much work done since a lot of the reviews 4 or 5 years ago)

Or a suggestion for another hotel ideally in the midlands - less than two hours from Derby.

No spa fans?

Fawsley was nice.

Lovely building & location. Infact the building is stunning.

Spa pleasant but getting a little bit tired.

Room was nice, large, plenty of character, scary old picture on the wall.

Restaurant on the set menu was again good but nothing stunning.

Overall, enjoyable, nothing wrong with it at all, not sure it was worth what we paid.
