Credit Card for travelling?

Off to Jamaica in a bit and have been advised I should get a credit card to use.

What would you recommend and why?

Just one comment on using a credit card abroad. You may be offered the option of paying in Sterling or the local currency. To get the best exchange rate always pay in the local currency & let the credit card company do the conversion.
